| Question: |
Can one wear contact lenses if one has Astigmatism and has prism in their lenses?
|
| Answer: |
Many of our patients that have astigmatism wear contact lenses succesfully. Prism is a tougher problem. Whether you would manage in contact lenses without your prism usually depends on how much you have. Often people can at least get part time wear without the prism. (It is not possible to put the prism in the contact lenses.)
I hope this helps. The best way to find out how well contact lenses will work is to test drive them. Most prescriptions are availabe in disposable format and can be test driven without the commitment to spend a lot of money. (Usually a fitting fee is charged and if the lenses are sucessful, the fee is included as part of the cost of the lenses.)
