Dr. Don
Williamson
Don Williamson was born and raised in Alberta. He
attended the University of Waterloo. He graduated
in 1979 as a Doctor of Optometry and moved to Brandon.
In 1980 he married Dr. Barbara Bourassa. They have
four children: Lauren, Danielle, Hailey and Marley.
Dr. Williamson and Dr. Bourassa founded Total Eye
Care on November 12, 1980.
Dr. Williamson enjoys speed skating, skiing and golfing
Dr. Williamson is Brandon’s only Optometrist
certified in Orthokeratology. |

Dr. Barb
Bourassa
Barbara Bourassa was born and raised in Estevan Saskatchewan.
She graduated from the University of Waterloo in
1979 as a Doctor of Optometry and moved to Brandon.
She married Dr. Don Williamson in 1980. They have
four children; Lauren, Danielle, Hailey and Marley.
Together they founded Total Eye Care on November 12,
1980.
Dr. Bourassa is very active in music, sports and
enjoying the family's horses with her children. She
is a past President of the Catholic School Board.
She is also currently the President of the Brandon
University Foundation.

Dr. Greg
Boguski
Greg Boguski was born and raised in Dauphin, Manitoba.
He attended the University of Waterloo, and graduated
in 1985 as a Doctor of Optometry.
He also attended Northeastern State University in
Oklahoma. He graduated in 1994 with ocular Therapeutics.
He has been a partner in Total Eye Care since 1987.
Dr. Boguski has been involved with Toastmasters,
the CNIB Board and Rotary Club. He enjoys swimming,
gardening, kayaking and outdoors.

Dr. Len
Rust
Len Rust is a native of Brandon. He attended Vincent
Massey High School, then Brandon University where
he graduated 1985 with B. Sc. He attended the University
of Waterloo and graduated in 1990 as Doctor of Optometry.
Dr. Rust practiced for 4 years in Winnipeg and then
returned to Brandon in 1994.
Dr. Rust is married to Brenda (speech pathologist)
and they have two daughters: Lindsay and Elizabeth.
Dr. Rust is an active runner. He finished the Manitoba
Marathon and also competed in the Boston Marathon
in the summer of 2003.

Dr. Derek Papegnies
Derek Papegnies was born and raised on the farm just outside of Dunrea, Manitoba.
He graduated with distinction from Wawanesa High School in 1996, before receiving his Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba in 2000. While attending the University of Manitoba, Derek was heavily involved with the Alumni Association with a group called Student Ambassadors, in which he was president in his final year. He was twice awarded Outstanding Student Leader for Western Canada and Northwestern USA, and was nominated for the Premier’s Volunteer Service award.
Derek graduated with his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2005. His outstanding clinical skills landed him on the Dean’s honor list in his final year and the William Feinbloom Low Vision award. He joined on with Total Eyecare immediately after graduation.
Dr. Papegnies enjoys winter sports. He is an avid curler and also enjoys skating, skiing and the odd game of hockey. In the summertime you can find him operating machinery on the family farm.
Derek is very excited to return to Western Manitoba and looks forward to seeing everyone in the years to come.
